Comments:

After high school I worked as a secretary for Cleveland Overseas Corporation and Oglebay Norton Company downtown in the Hanna Building. Especially enjoyed working for Oglebay Norton (Columbia Transportation) and learning about the Great Lakes Shipping fleets. Columbia operated the Edmund Fitzgerald - so I felt a deep loss when it sank as many employees had sons or relatives on that ship.
Received my R.N. License in 1982 and worked in the CCU at Hillcrest Hospital for several years. In 1995 I became a Certified Occupational Health Nurse and worked at Ford and Carlisle Engineering as a Plant Nurse. Enjoyed learning about Osha, ergonomics and safety in the work force.
We lived in South Russell until 2 years ago when we moved to Lorain to be closer to our grandchildren. S. Russell is the heart of the snowbelt (Geauga County) so we did a lot of skiing (especially Holden Arboretum and Punderson Golf Couse). We also enjoy golfing, biking and kayaking.
While living in S. Russell I volunteered at Rescue Village - walking/feeding and caring for the abondoned animals - it was difficult because I wanted to bring them all home - which really concerned my husband ;-) We have a wonderful 11.5 year old chocolate lab named Trapper who is a Certified Therapy Dog. He has been a joy to seniors and children that have parents fighting cancer...

We have traveled to some interesting places ..most of the European countries, Caribbean, and in 2000 we did a pilgrimage to The Holy Land and Egypt with my Aunt and Uncle, and members of St. Charles Parish in Parma.

This January we are going to visit family in Cape Coral and Jupiter, Florida.

School Story:

In my senior year I had mononucleosis so I missed the first month of school. My Dad feeling sorry for me (I played it up a little) let me have our spare car to drive to school. It was terrific to finally have a car to use - if even for only a short while - but this car would shake and vibrate every time you would turn it on. I remember giving John Waters a ride home also..and John doing "something" to the carburetor to smooth it out...this was embarrassing (and definitely not cool) to have a car that acted up in our parking lot ;-)
Also remember Joan William's Dad who was the Police Chief of Olmsted at the time coming to school to give us a ride home in the cruiser. Joanie wanted to die, and hid on the bottom of the car. I just laughed all the way home..it was great fun!

Pat was a dear friend. We would ride the Berea bus together  to go to our jobs

downtown  after graduating in 1965.  It was memorable because every day we had breakfast together. Pat and her husband Rich moved to the above apartment to us on Bagley Rd. We had  lots of parties and fun times together. Pat, you are dearly missed.
