Following BHS I worked for a large engineering/construction firm in Cleveland. In 1966, I completed an apprenticeship program in Engineering Design with the firm. In conjunction with that, I attended the University of Cincinnati (with Rich Bosse '65 and Frank Willson '64) majoring in Engineering, pick-up basketball games and Fraternity Life (BETA). Through on-campus protests, the Vietnam War, and Kent State, I managed to get married and got accepted to graduate school. 1972 had me in the working world, first as a teacher/coach then on to human resoures and adult training in the construction/maintenance industry. After moves to North Carolina and on to Texas my career fizzled out. Thus in 1998 I returned to education as a teacher, coach and adminstrator. This September It was 23 years back in the saddle. I have coached offensive lineman for football and assistant head coach in basketball and have been the Athletic Director for my campus. I did a few years handling baseball. After a short stint at a community college in 2013, I returned to the classroom at the High School level full time again. Not interested in retiring just yet. having a lot of fun teaching and coaching.
My hobbies keep me busy, Camping/traveling, Canoeing and Kayaking in the Gulf of Mexico. Camping in the TEXAS state parks In addition to my pontoon boat ( so that I could have my own dock) l all so have a 34 ft. travel trailer ( so that I could have my own cabin). November 25, 2015 added a new Granddaughter with Brooklyn and May 25, 2016 added another new granddaughter with the addition of Allie. That makes five Conner, Riley, Madison, Brooklyn and Allie .

Other than playing football, high school just flew by. Made a lot of great friends Dana Dixon, Ron Carruthers, Jim Clark, Dennis Kosko, Rich Bosse, Frank Wilson, George Behrend, Loomis brothers, Dennis McCafferty, Gerald Danzey, and others and a few I would like to forget. I have fond memories of Loomis Elem. School, Mr. Black, and friendships with Paul "Sparky" Adams, Lloyd Foster, Paul Shepard, Herb Dettmer, Richard Curtner. Who can forget our year at old Central High School for the 7th grade. The best time ever was our coffin parade as Seniors. I still remeber staying up all night building the thing and getting it ready for the walk. Thank god my dad owned the lumberyard. The summer months during college, downtown Berea was my hangout, Best of all Timmy's and the pool hall. I was known to tip a few with Rich, Ron, Dana, and Dennis. . I miss Ohio but I hate winter. Texans' call me a Texan "by default". Enjoying life and plan on enjoying it more.
